Sex Outside of Marriage is Not Adultery
(It is Fornication)
Plus - Causing One To Sin

When the Word of God speaks of someone “causing” one to sin, God is not speaking of “any other sin” but that someone, singular or plural, is leading the person or peoples to “worship other gods”.

Neh 13:26-Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.

These outlandish women caused Solomon to commit the sin of “idolatry”.

1 Kings 11:1-12

1 - But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;

2 - Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.

3 - And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

4 - For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.

5 - For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

6 - And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.

7 - Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.

8 - And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.

9 - And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,

10 - And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.

11 - Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

12 - Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father's sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.

Matt 5:32 is the ONLY time the Bible speaks of someone CAUSING another to commit a sin other than leading one away from the One True God.

Matt 5:32 - But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

If a man divorce his wife he causes her to commit adultery.  WHY?  Because a woman is created to want a man; a husband.  She in most cases will marry again and at THAT TIME she will be committing adultery.

If she remains single, he will not have caused her to commit adultery; but it would be “not his doing” that saved him from causing her to commit this sin; it was “her doing” or rather her NOT DOING; that is her not marrying again.

Mark 10:12 - And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

If a woman divorce her husband and she marry again, SHE caused HERSELF to commit adultery, AND she also CAUSED her husband to commit adultery, if he does not have the “gift of containment”.  And he probable doesn’t have or he would not have been married in the first place.

He must either commit adultery by marrying again or go to committing fornication. (sex outside of marriage.)

Why is ONLY THIS considered a CAUSE to make someone else sin?

Some men cannot control sexual desires, and these NEED A WIFE.

This is the way God created man. He created almost ALL men with a SEXUAL DRIVE to procreate.  That is to produce off spring.  And He created almost ALL women to DESIRE a man/husband.

This cannot be controlled without the GIFT of CONTAINMENT..

Paul was a single man.

1 Cor 7:8-9 - I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. (stay unmarried) But if they cannot contain, (self restraint- constrain – hold back – deny oneself) let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn. (burn with lust).

Matt 19:9 - And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

Matt 19:10 - His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry

Matt 19:11 - But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

It is God Who gives the sexual desire.

It is God Who gives a man the ability to live without a wife.  He does not give this “gift” to “all men”.

Jesus is saying that all men cannot receive the saying that the disciples just said about marriage.  “All men” cannot refrain from the desire of a woman.  They must marry or burn in lust, or sin by fornication.

A eunuch is a castrated person made impotent.  Castration makes impotent and removes the desire for sex.

Matt:19:12 - For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

He that can “contain/control” the sexual desire let him control it. This is okay/permissible.

If a woman is “dissatisfied” with her husband she can “separate” and “remain unmarried”. Likewise the man.  Either one can reconcile the marriage during separation and return to each other again.

That is their ONLY recourse; the ONLY choice- option –way out –remedy.

The man or the woman has NO EXCUSE for ANYTHING ELSE.  There is NO OTHER COURSE OF ACTION and NO ONE ELSE TO BLAME if OTHER ACTION is taken.

ANY OTHER ACTION is WILLING TAKEN by the man or the woman.

They DID have a WAY OUT.

ADULTERY is the act of leaving one’s spouse and marrying another. Adultery is NOT the act of “cheating” on one’s spouse. (sexual acts with another).

FORNICATION is the SEXUAL ACT with someone OTHER THAN the spouse.

Matt 19:9 - And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

So it is NOT ADULTERY when a spouse has sex with “another person” other than the husband or wife, if they did not “depart”: or put away/divorce the spouse

What actually happens is that the spouse is committing “fornication”

This is the Bible interpretation of the word FORNICATION.

Strong’s Greek/Hebrew Dictionary: 4202  porneia (por-ni'-ah); from 4203; harlotry

4203  porneuo (porn-yoo'-o);  harlotry, idolatry: to act the harlot from 4204

4204- porne (por'-nay); literally to indulge in unlawful lust (of either sex), a harlot, a whore.

The Bible plainly teaches that ANYONE that has sexual acts outside the “biblical or legal marriage bed” is a “male whoremonger” or a” female whore

Gen 38:24 - And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.

Notice it doesn’t say she was with child by  “adultery” or “fornication”? It was fornication. But a fornicator is called a whore in the Bible.

Harlot - 2181  zanah (zaw-naw'); a primitive root;to commit adultery (usually of the female, and less often of simple fornication, rarely of involuntary ravishment);

KJV -- (cause to) commit fornication, X continually, X great, (be an, play the) harlot, (cause to be, play the) whore, (commit, fall to) whoredom, (cause to) go a-whoring, whorish.

Speaking of the man

Eph 5:5 - For this ye know, that no “whoremonger” (male fornicator), nor unclean person, nor covetous (desirous-longing for that which is forbidder) man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

The BIBLE teaches that NO ONE can COMMIT FORNICATION --- UNLESS --- unlawful LUST is present in the heart

Some like to “dress up” the sin of whorish fornication, just like the sodomites dress up their sin by referring to it as an “alternate lifestyle”.

These people like to call the sin of whorish fornication “adultery”.  Others like to dress it up even further by calling it “having an affair”.

The Biblical definitions of fornication it just to ugly for some folks to bear.

God’s Truth is sometimes hard to digest.

Psm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
