Greek Eastern Orthodox Religion

The Greek Eastern Orthodox Religion is straight out of the pits of hell.  They teach that performing the seven sacraments are absolutely essential to go to heaven.  This is the same damnable heresy which Roman Catholicism teaches.

The Greek Eastern Orthodox Church formed in 1054 when it split from the Roman Catholic Church. Since 869 AD, the Eastern and Roman were two branches of the same 'Holy Apostolic' church. In 1054 the head or “pontiff” of each group “excommunicated” the other! The Greek Eastern Orthodox rejected the idea that the Roman Pontiff was Supreme Ruler over Eastern Orthodox churches. While Orthodox churches share many of the prayers, litanies, and Eucharistic forms of worship with the Roman Catholic Church, it rejects and differs with Romanism.

Eastern Orthodox Churches believe the Bible teaches without error the Truth needed for Salvation, but must be interpreted within the Tradition of the Church and its 7 Ecumenical Councils from 325AD to 787AD.

Matthew 15:9

15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

The false religion of Greek Eastern Orthodox teaches the tradition of men that salvation is achieved by performing 7 Sacraments during one's lifetime. These are 'Channels' in which we receive God's Grace.

To achieve salvation (justification), both faith and works are considered necessary.  (This is a deception of satan.)
- They reject salvation by faith alone in Jesus Christ. The Orthodox Churches accepts seven sacraments, as does Roman Catholicism.

(Ephesians 2:8   For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Ephesians 2:9   Ephesians 2:9   Not of works, lest any man should boast).

The false religion of Greek Eastern Orthodox teaches "Thru Baptism and participation in the church, God's People receive the benefits of Christ's redeeming work as they persevere in Christ. God became a human so human beings might be deified"

BAPTISM DOES NOT SAVE - DOES NOT HELP SAVE

A favorite device of the Devil is to have men look to their works for their salvation instead of looking to Christ. He leads some to trust in their morality, some to depend upon lodge membership, some to depend upon confessions to priests; some he leads to trust in baptism. That is a fatal mistake. The unanimous voice of all the Scriptures is that people are saved by simple faith in Christ, without any act of righteousness, and baptism is never mentioned as a part of the plan of salvation. Baptism is an act of righteousness, for Jesus said in Matthew 3:15, "Thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness." Titus 3:5 says that such acts of righteousness do not save us:

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost."

Baptism is certainly a good work, but Ephesians 2:8,9 likewise says plainly that salvation is altogether a matter of God's mercy and not of our works :

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast."

The false religion of Greek Orthodox does not believe in Eternal Security and does not teach the Believer can have Assurance of heaven during this lifetime.

(John 5:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. ”)

(John 10:28  “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”)

In fact, we are told again and again in the Bible that the man who trusts in Christ has everlasting life immediately.

John 3:36 says:

"He that believeth on the Son HATH everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

"Hath" means has, present tense, in modern English.

Likewise, John 5:24 says:

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, HATH everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation: but IS PASSED from death unto life."

Greek Orthodox churches consider themselves the one true church going back to the days of Peter and Jesus, and that Rome erred when it split from the Greek Orthodox Church in 1054. They believe in Apostolic Succession. There are over 3.5 million Orthodox church members in the U.S. But many more millions in Russia and Europe, where Greek Orthodox is prominent.

Greek Orthodox believes baptism is a sacrament necessary to salvation, and usually occurs in infants. "Baptism initiates God's life in the one baptized.  Sprinkling is rejected, and 3-fold immersion is practiced.

In the Eucharist, the bread and wine are 'changed into Jesus' body and blood' (mystery left unexplained)

Greek orthodox churches reject image and relic worship, idol worship, which is prominent in Roman Churches, and they also reject the sale of indulgences (which are 'surplus' good works which can be transferred to others as RCC teaches)

The honor Mary but do not worship her in the way Roman Catholicism does in idol worship.  They do not believe in immaculate conception of Mary or Assumption of Mary like RCC does.

2nd Peter 2:3  And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

(This is a warning to those who teach the false doctrine of Greek Eastern Orthodox Or the Catholic Church.)

(Yes they make good pastry but pastry is not a ticket to heaven through "good works" because good works is not the key.)

John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 10:9   I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

How To Identify Cults And False Religions

(The are many false "religions".  You can make anything a "religion" if you want to.

There are many religions that are on the menu to fit whatever need you have.

Most false religions teach your need to atone for your own wrong doing, sin etc, by performing a ritual or Tradition of the Church  that will be acceptable to idols, ie "good works"..

You can never atone for your own sin. You can be deceived and labour all your life to be acceptable to a false religion idol.

Don't be deceived by trying to be acceptable by your own works of self redemption.)

Believe and be saved from your sins
