"Ape Yard"    (Bible Tract)

An ignominious feature somewhat associated with the area pictured above is the “Ape Yard.” Apparently, this area, located near a mill community or the local pub/tavern/bar,  provided a moral and spiritual deep hole into which many hard-working men would fall, sometimes disappearing for weeks at a time while on drinking binges.

Men and women often lost their jobs and even their families. The men or women might resurface in their community later, hold down another job for a while, and then return once again to the black hole for another extended stay.

Often located across the railroad tracks (from Bootleg Corner) and accessed through “Bay Rum Valley”.  It also is located in every city/town that has a "watering hole" ie  bar/tavern/pub/lounge/craft brewery etc etc.

Most cities/towns have local "Ape Yards" in the form of either bushes near railroad tracks, a small clearing concealed by trees or other areas hidden by buildings etc.

"Ape Yards" are also in the form of local bars/pubs/lounges etc that are not hidden but are in plain view that are "black holes" where men and women disappear for weeks at a time while on drinking binges.

Men and women are told in county music songs to drown their sorrows in liquor or beer to forget the state they are in.

Men often lost their jobs and even their families because alcohol rules them as if they were just an ape. Then they might resurface in their community later, hold down another job for a while, and then return once again to the black hole "Ape Yard" of a local tavern/bar for another extended stay.

Local "Ape Yards" are not just shady groves of trees or bushes but are also dingy lit pubs/taverns/bars that welcome you, take your money, provide a comfortable place to consume alcohol while your on a binge, as you listen to songs that encourage drinking your sorrows away.

Yes there are 2 types of "Ape Yards" some hidden and some in plain view.

As you stumble into the pit of your local "Ape Yard" it becomes a refuge or a kind of virtual world where reality does not exist.

As your stumble out of the pit of your local "Ape Yard" reality comes back  slowly to you through the fog of an hangover and trying to remember what you did while inside your local bar or other "Ape Yard".

"Ape Yards" come in many forms and are dens of destruction. The revolving door of a bar or other "Ape Yard" is not the answer you are looking for to solve your problems.

How To Stop Drinking Alcohol

Your can stop if your really want to. God will help you to stop drinking wine, beer, liquor etc or taking drugs.

(1) You will need to make a decision to quit drinking any form of alcohol and truly want to.

(2) James 4:7  “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

(3) Submit yourself to God by calling on his name and asking him to help you.

Romans 10:9,10

9  "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

10  "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Some people say "I can't stop drinking" or "I want to stop drinking but I don't know how" or "I have tried to stop drinking but I can't" etc etc etc.

People make EXCUSES when they really don't want to stop drinking alcohol and forever come out of the "Ape Yards" of sin and destruction.

You, as I have done, can pray to God and ask him to help you stop drinking alcohol. Jesus will help you, if you believe he can.  Ask him to remove alcohol from your life.

Romans (9)  "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

John 3:16  "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Listen and read God's Word to stay sober. Read God's Word every day. This is very important because:

1 Peter (5:8)  "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

Satan our adversary will temp you through you old sin nature. If you read God's Word your adversary the devil will be much less likely to persuade you to take a drink of alcohol.

If you put on the whole armour of God you will be able to stand up against satan the destroyer.

Ephesians Chapter 6 (11-18)

6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
